What is Twitter?
Twitter is a real-time messaging service which can be accessed via PC's, Mac's and web enabled mobile phones. It allows individuals or Business, like ourselves, to post short messages which instantly become viewable on our Twitter page.
What information do you post on your Twitter page?
All sorts of information is posted - all of which is relevant to lady golfers. We post details of Sales, Special Offers, New Product Arrivals and much much more regarding the day-to-day activities of both our website and our high street shop.
We also use Twitter to promote our 'Ladies Golf Network' (Click here for more details) and you will find regular Tweets concerning all aspects of ladies golf in the UK including Ladies Golf Membership Opportunities, Ladies Golf Tuition, Ladies Open Competitions, Visiting Parties/Societies offers etc etc.
How much will it cost?
Twitter is a completely free service. Registration is completely free and further more you can post and receive as many messages (tweets) as you wish. Your standard internet charges will apply, but downloads are minimal as it is a text based service.
How often will I receive Tweets?
The beauty of Twitter is that it is an incredibly un-obtrusive messaging service. You only see the tweets you have received when you log onto your Twitter home page, meaning your e-mail inbox isn't inundated with mail. You are in control - whether you log-in every hour or once a week, you control when you read your tweets.
Additionally 'Tweets' are short, they can be no longer than 140 characters, so messages are easy to read allowing you to ignore posts which are of no interest to you and concentrate on the ones that do. Generally our 'Tweets' include a web link which takes you to the product, special offer or full story in more depth, but once again you chose if and when you access this extra information.
How do I open a Twitter account?
Log on to the twitter home page (www.twitter.com) and click on the 'Sign up now' button. All you need to do is provide an e-mail address, a password and a unique username and you can be registered in minutes.
How do I receive Tweets?
Once you have a Twitter account and have become a 'Follower' your 'tweets' will be there, waiting for you, each time you log on to your Twitter account.
How do I become a follower?
Click on the 'Follow Us on Twitter' button displayed on our menu (top right of the page) and you will be taken to our Twitter home page - golfingladynews. Click on the 'Follow' button near the top left of the page. You will now receive all our tweets!!!
What benefits are there to Tweets over receiving our regular e-mail shots?
We will continue to send our regular e-mails, but we are wary of sending too much information in each e-mail and also sending them to regularly. The introduction of our Ladies Golf Network has created an abundance of news and information and a balance needs to be found which allows us to keep you up-to-date with all the Ladies Golf News we receive, whilst not excessively bombarding you with e-mails and boring you to tears!!! Twitter will allow us to do this.
